Helping small business since 2016!

What financial services do you provide and what are your areas of expertise?

We provide bookkeeping, accounting, tax, controller and CFO services. We also provide project based services for early stage companies. We provide fractional support for businesses that do not need or could not afford a full time finance person or team. We have the capability to manage an entire finance team for larger clients. Our seasoned experts on average bring more than 20 years of experience from startup to corporate environments in virtually any industry.

What is the difference between bookkeeping and accounting?

Bookkeeping serves as the foundation of financial accounting, involving the recording, categorizing, and summarizing of transactions. This includes recording data into software programs such as QuickBooks and reconciling cash and credit card transactions monthly.

Accounting is the application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and ensuring that the financials are in compliance. This includes creating journal entries, closing the financials monthly, and preparation of the financial statements.

How much does it cost to outsource financial services, and what is the pricing structure?

Pricing is based primarily on each individual service, which you can view from our Services menu. Our pricing is flexible and there are no minimums or any requirement for annual contracts.

What are the benefits of outsourcing financial services, such as bookkeeping or CFO services?

Many startups and small businesses do not have the resources to be able to hire full time personnel or afford even a small finance team. We believe that access to experienced finance knowledge is a key factor to success especially in the early stages, as well as senior financial acumen for fundraising and growth stages. Our fractional approach provides both flexibility and affordability which is key for our clients.

What are the qualifications and experience of your financial service providers?

Our senior financial team has on average more than 20 years of financial experience from startups to large corporate environments. All of our team members have substantial startup experience and are US based. We are very cognizant of our client resources and time, and our folks hit the ground running. Your company will be matched with someone from our team with your specific industry.

What is the process for outsourcing financial services, and how long does it take to set up?

We can typically get started within a couple of weeks depending on the availability of our team members, and have started many engagements within a few days. We offer a free consultation to discuss your needs, followed by a meeting to finalize the scope and cost. Our team would then schedule a kick off meeting to start the engagement.

What is your approach to confidentiality of financial information?

All of our customer agreements include details on confidentiality, and all of our team members have executed confidentiality agreements individually.

How do you handle discrepancies or errors in financial records?

One of the services we offer is to review a client's financials at the start of an engagement. We also have had clients where information has not been entered or managed for a significant prior of time and we execute the catch-up work to ensure financials are timely. We help get our clients prepared for financing and/or fundraising as lending or venture groups will be hesitant to provide a loan or make an investment if the financials are in poor shape.

What is the level of communication and reporting provided by the financial service outsourcing company?

In general our team members are in frequent contact with our clients and at a bare minimum reporting is provided on a monthly basis. We work with our clients upfront to determine the scope which includes communication and reporting expectations. We require our team members to reply within 24 hours, but it is typically same day.

What will a CFO do for my business?

A CFO is primarily a strategic forward looking partner to your business. While there is also a tactical nature to the role, the key expertise is in mapping your financial path forward.  This includes setting goals and milestones and building out the resources and timing of what is needed to get you there. They understand the unique challenges your company will encounter as they have already lived through them.

Why not use my CPA or a Controller as CFO?

A CPA is skilled at reviewing and certifying the financial statements and past results. Similarly, a controller is more of a financial scorekeeper in detailing what has happened in the past. A CFO is more forward looking and strategic.

Do you work at my location or virtually?

All of our team members have the capability to work remotely, and this is the most frequent approach. However, we do have clients with both onsite and hybrid models.
